Child & Youth Activity Leader

(Part-Time, Contract)

Position Overview

We are seeking a fun, enthusiastic, and dedicated leader to deliver our Always Active Programming. The ideal candidate will bring creativity to their programming, encourage teamwork, and demonstrate quick problem-solving skills. This role involves building confidence in participants while promoting physical literacy and mindful movement practices.

Program participants range in age from 1.5 - 9. 

Location: Sooke, BC

Contract Duration: September 8, 2025 - December 19, 2025, opportunity for contract extension.

Hours: 10 hours per week. 
Monday: 10 -12 AM
Tuesdays: 3 - 6:00 PM 
Wednesdays: 3 - 6:00 PM 
Thursdays: 3 - 6:00 PM 

Rate: $20-$23 per hour

Responsibilities

● Lead and implement the Always Active Program Programming with creativity and adaptability.

●Foster teamwork and build confidence in children and youth through engaging activities.

●Demonstrate quick problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.

● Transport and manage sport equipment as required.

● Maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all participants.

Qualifications

● Experience in Sport or Recreation Leadership

● Reliable transportation

● Availability for listed shifts. 

● Two references.

Certifications

● Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a

criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any

criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.

● Standard First Aid and CPR-C

● Valid BC Driver's Licence Class 4 (Unrestricted)
